About Us

Here is just a little about us... First Step Therapy Centre is a trading name of Right Therapy Care (UK) Ltd, which is a company set up by Senthil Periyasamy and Jim Coyle.

Senthil Periyasamy - Director

Senthil is the originator of the First Step Therapy Methods, which have been developed over many years of research and experience. Senthil owns the Right Therapy Care (Ireland) Ltd company and has a number of clinics in the Southwest of Ireland including the flagship First Step Paediatric Rehabilitation Centre in Patrickswell, outside Limerick City in Ireland.

Jim Coyle - Director

Jim Coyle manages the day-to-day affairs of the Centre in Newry He has almost 10 years experience of working in the National Health Service in Northern Ireland in Business, Planning and Information Systems. Jim was inspired to bring First Step Therapy to Newry after spending 3 weeks with Senthil at his clinic in Kilmallock, Co. Limerick during Nov 2006, where his son Niall went through the First Step Programme. You can see Niall in action by downloading the First Step Therapy Programme brochure

Gopalan Sivakumaar - Senior Physiotherapist

Gopalan is the Senior Physiotherapist who works at the Newry Centre (known as Goshi to the children and parents). He has worked extensively at clinics and hospitals in India (where he still has his own practice) and is experienced in treating many different neurological conditions that affect children and adults. He is particularly skilled in adult stroke rehabilitation and in musculo-skeletal problems. Ramya, Goshi's wife is also a qualified HPC registered physiotherapist and also provides meditation and relaxation classes at the Centre.
